Kaohsiung District Prosecutor Yi-Shioung Cheng(鄭益雄)was informed by Ministry of Justice Investigation Bureau (“MJIB” thereafter) Taipei Division that Tsai-***, an ex-con sentenced to 5.6-year imprisonment for methamphetamine manufacturing in August 2010 again and was supposed to be sent to prison this August, kept purchasing a large quantity of materials and machines to manufacture drugs while he attempt to defer the execution of the afore-mentioned imprisonment.
Prosecutor Yi-Shioung Cheng and Taipei District Prosecutor Zhan-Geng Young (楊展庚)therefore formed a joint investigation panel, directing investigators from MJIB Taipei Division, MJIB Kaohsiung Division, MJIB Southern Mobile Unit, Taipei Military Police and Kaohsiung City Police Department Ling-Ya Branch, to monitor Tsai-***, who became more suspicious and scrupulous after being captured in 2010. After intensive investigations over a month, a condominium suite at Liu He First Road, where Tsai-*** manufactured drugs, was targeted.
Prosecutor Yi-Shioung Cheng thereafter directed the investigation panel to search the aforementioned suite ,seized semi-manufactured 10-kilogram methamphetamine, a large quantity of materials and machines. Tsai-*** was arrested accordingly. A motion to detain Tsai-*** was filed by the Prosecution on the ground that he strongly suspected of committing drug-manufacturing and was approved by the Kaohsiung District Court soon after. The Prosecution still persists to track other possible co-offenders and the origin of the material to acclaim the resolution of Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office to crack down drugs and crimes. It is public duty to fight against drugs.
