Description of the Electronic Fraud Group to the State-run Enterprise Examination

 

Taiwan Kaohsiung District Prosecutor's Office ”KDPO”Head Prosecutor Liu Yingfang and Prosecutor Tsai Jiecheng commanded the Southern Investigation Office of Agency Against Corruption,Ministry of Justice to investigate the case of a electronic fraud group suspected to cheat in state-run enterprise examination. On October 12,November 1,2021 and January 4, 2022 ,prosecutor successively directed special teams to implement searches. A total of 17 locations were searched in 3 waves of operations, 8 defendants and multiple witnesses were summoned, and various electronic fraudulent devices were seizured, such as a large number of mobile phones, Bluetooth headsets and detection of fraudulent equipment, etc. After being interrogated by the prosecutor, 4 defendants surnamed Guo, Lin, Chen, and Wu were identified as being involved in aggravated fraud and other crimes, with serious criminal suspicions, and the reasons and necessity for detention, and successively applied to the court for detention. Forbidden to see was approved; the other 4 defendants involved in the case will be released on bail for NT$10000, 50000, and 100000 respectively.

 

Preliminary investigation revealed that the defendants surnamed Guo and Lin were current employees of Taipower Corporation and Sinosteel, the defendant surnamed Chen was the spouse of the defendant surnamed Lin, the defendants surnamed Guo, Lin, Chen, Wu and the fugitive head of Wu were all Important personnel of the electronic fraud group. The group is targeting state-run enterprises (including Taipower, CNPC, and Sinosteel) for the examination of recruits as a target of fraud and profit, and recruits candidates who are willing to electronically fraudulently enroll in state-run enterprises. They appointed NT$20,000 to purchase fraudulent equipment including mobile phones, earphones and signal amplifiers, and then pay NT$1.2 million to NT$1.5 million as the consideration for fraud. Fraud by broadcasting the answers to the headphones worn by the candidates. After each written test is released, the group also provides interview-related services for cheating candidates who pass the written test, such as assisting cheating candidates to revise their autobiographies and teaching interview skills, so that cheating candidates can be admitted on the list. At present, it is found that this electronic fraud group has been suspected of cheating in state-run enterprise examinations more than 10 times since 2016. At present, there are at least 101 candidates who have been admitted to CNPC, Sinosteel and Taipower companies through this fraud group. The detailed number Still under investigation.
