Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office established the “Task force of Investigation into Recall Voting Bribery and against Violence Interfering in Recall Voting” on April 20, 2020 and established the 24-hour “Recall Voting Investigation Contact Center" on May 18, 2020.

In response to the upcoming recall voting in Kaohsiung City, and to prevent the intervention of illegal money, violence, and various illegal means, Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office formally established the “Recall Voting Investigation Contact Center” on May 18, 2020, and the Center starts operating since 8:30 a.m. on the same day. The bailiffs will answer the 24-hour informing hotline: 0800-024-099 to receive the informing of illegal cases related to recall voting. Once receiving the information and intelligence, it will be given to the prosecutors and the prosecutors will conduct the investigation and seize the evidence immediately to eradicate the intervention of illegal money, violence, gambling, fake information and other illegal means in recall voting.

Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office has continuously received the information and intelligence related to the recall voting cases during the period of the bribery investigation of 109 two-in-one election, and has continued to conduct investigations concerning the hindering recall voting cases. In response to the Recall proclaimed by Central Election Commission on April 17, 2020, Rong-song Zhuang, the Chief Prosecutor, immediately assigned to establish the “ Task force of Investigation into Recall Voting Bribery and against Violence Interfering in Recall Voting” on April 20, 2020 to handle the hindering recall voting cases, sent the official letters out to the Police under the jurisdiction related to the district checklists, information and intelligence reporting procedures, etc., and assigned the Head Prosecutors to supervise several districts to formally initiate the investigation related to recall voting. Kaohsiung and Ciaotou District Prosecutors Office jointly held the Conference on " Investigation of Bribery and Prevention of Violence for Recall Voting" in the conference room on the fifth floor of the Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office on May 6, 2020, and assigned each prosecutor to reside and station at the each Precinct of the City Police Department since June 5 and 6, 2020, to rapidly crack down on illegality in order to maintain the fairness of the recall voting.

Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office encourages the public to call the hotline mentioned above if they are aware of any information and intelligence related to illegality about recall voting. Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office is absolutely confidential about the identity of the informer. Any violations of the law will never be treated leniently and will be investigated to the end.
