Kaohsiung District Prosecutor wrapped up the oil trading case, Oil trader charged with forgery for making false export declarations The chief prosecutor Tseng ching-ya(曾靖雅), prosecutor Lin,chih-yu(林志祐)led investigators to investigate the oil trading case, finding oil trader Chen violating article 215 and 216 of Criminal Code of the Republic of China. Chen was indicted with forgery. After summoning people who might be involved in the case and analyzing related information, prosecutor Lin,chih-yu(林志祐)and the task force found that Chen, the defendant , who is the director of an oil company, set up paper companies in the Marshall Islands and the British Virgin Islands. The two vessels which loaded refined petroleum to sell in international waters belong to those two paper companies. In the year of 2017, Chen knew that the oil was going to be sold in international waters, not Hong Kong, yet, he provided Taichung customs officers with false export information, causing the export documents filled out by the unknowing officers were incorrect and the tankers were given customs clearance. The oil transferred was up to 27,400 tons reportedly.
