Accused targeted elementary school students and coerced the victims into handing out nude Photos or sexual intercourse
Kaohsiung district prosecutors office accused two perpetrators of filming or children engaging in obscene acts by means of violence, coercion. These two male perpetrators, Chiu and Wang set up several accounts in Facebook, Line, Wechat, and aimed at the female teenagers under 18 years old, especially the elementary school students. From January 2016 these two perpetrators kept asking the teenagers they kept communication with to photograph and send nude pictures or films. If they were denied, they turned to terrify the victims by sending threatening messages such as killing the family members or friends of the victim, kidnapping the victims, etc. Some terrified victims then sent nudity pictures or films to Chiu and Wang. After receiving the nudity pictures, these two perpetrators sent pictures to friends of the victims or uploaded them on Websites. So far the two perpetrators are accused of coerce 13 juveniles and 1 18 year old victim to send nudity pictures and forward it to others. There are still hundreds of potential victims in the follow up investigation.
Unit of protection of women and children in Kaohsiung prosecutors’ office has discovered that there is noticeable growth in the numbers of such cases. The safety of internet surfing of the elementary school students is therefore well concerned. It is urgent to strengthen the sense of self-protection of the students.
