Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office, Qiaotou District Prosecutors Office and Prosecution Bureau in Supreme Military Court jointly host a seminar to discuss Criminal Code of the Armed Forces cases issues

Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office, Qiaotou District Prosecutors Office and Prosecution Bureau in Supreme Military Court jointly host a seminar to discuss Criminal Code of the Armed Forces cases issues Due to the amendment of Code of Court Martial Procedure, the cases regarding military personnel on active duty committing crimes of Criminal Code of the Armed Forces while not at war time are now transferred to the judicial authorities. In order to coping with judicial autopsy of military personnel and conducting military-related criminal cases , a seminar was held by the chief prosecutor of Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office Chou, Chang-Chin(周章欽), the chief prosecutor of Qiaotou District Prosecutors Office Wang, Chun-Li (王俊力) and the chief prosecutor of Prosecution Bureau in Supreme Military Court Tang, Hsu-Chu (唐旭初) on November 3. The chief prosecutor of Kaohsiung Branch, Taiwan High Prosecutors Office Yang, Jyh-Yeu(楊治宇) was invited to this seminar to give some guidance. There were 80 persons attending this seminar, including head prosecutors and prosecutors of Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office, Qiaotou District Prosecutors Office, Pingtung District Prosecutors Office, Penghu District Prosecutors Office, prosecutors of Prosecution Bureau in Supreme Military Court and military personnel of The Army and The Navy. In the beginning of the seminar, the chief prosecutor of Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office Chou, Chang-Chin(周章欽), the chief prosecutor of Qiaotou District Prosecutors Office Wang, Chun-Li (王俊力) and the chief prosecutor of Prosecution Bureau in Supreme Military Court Tang, Hsu-Chu (唐旭初) addressed their appreciation for the attendants who putting an effort to dealing with judicial autopsy of military personnel and conducting military-related criminal cases in turn. They also give admiration for the well connection and cooperation between judicial authorities and military authorities. There were case briefing and experience sharing regarding the investigation approaches to judicial autopsy of military personnel and conducting military-related criminal cases during the seminar. Issues about the connection and cooperation between judicial authorities and military authorities, promulgating an order for the arrest of military personnel on active duty, judicial documents sending, judicial autopsy of military personnel who die in the area of military base were discussed. With this seminar, the goal of the improvement of prosecutors’ professional ability to process the military cases, digging out the truth, fulfilling the military task needs and safeguarding the rights of parties in judicial cases are expected to achieved.
