Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office reviewed a drug-trafficking case

Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office reviewed a drug-trafficking case After reviewing drug-trafficking cases, the Investigation Bureau, Ministry of Justice (MJIB) found one particular case in April 2015 with suspicious breaking circumstances, and soon reported this finding to Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office. Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office then assigned this case to Head Prosecutor Wang, Prosecutor Liu and Prosecutor Tsai to see this 70Kg amphetamine trafficking case by Tseng through. It turned out that Yu was highly suspected for this crime. Yu, who was arrested for trafficking 40Kg Ketamine in March 2014, planned to get a verdict of exempted from punishment in term of Article 14 Witness Protection Act. According to the Article, the sentence of any defendant may be reduced or exempted, when he provides material testimony against other accomplices committing a more serious offense. Yu associated with Tseng to commit the case of trafficking 70 Kg amphetamine, and asked Tseng to admit his own guilt, after Yu provided the lead of this case to Investigation Officer Tsai. After viewing all the evidence, Prosecutor hold that Yu is highly suspected of having committed this 70Kg amphetamine trafficking case in April and an other attempted Ketamine dealing case. Yu is now detained without the right of meeting with visitors, given the sufficient facts that he might abscond and conspire with other co-offender or witness. Meanwhile the investigation officer Tsai was released on bail of 100 thousand NTD.
