30,000 counterfeit philter capsules seized
According to the intelligence, some unscrupulous merchants sold the counterfeit impotence capsules in the local drug stores. Head Prosecutor Wu-Yi Kuo（郭武義） and Prosecutor Zi-Yi Haung（黃子宜） of Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office consequently started the investigation thereof. After collecting the evidence rigorously, the prosecutors discovered these unscrupulous merchants blended the “sildenafil analogue”（which is the essential ingredient of viagra） into the capsules and named the product with implication , such as miracle work, to attract the customers. So far, at least forty or fifty thousands of counterfeit impotence capsules have been sold. Although the male consumers did have greater sexual potency after taking the capsules, they would suffer from insomnia, dizzy spells and rapid heartbeat. As for those with high blood pressure, these symptoms could be fatal.
On 8th May 2012, Prosecutor Haung led the police to search the drug stores and the factories in Cianjhen District. Approximate 30,000 impotence capsules, which worth more than 10 million NT, were seized during this raid. The suspects, the Apothecary Chen-** and his sons, were out on bail. Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office appeals to the public for not buying unauthentic drugs, lest it should cause damage to people health.
