Winter Warmth of Justice– Cozy Donation in Freezing Days The KDPO has hosted “Winter Warmth”, an event to help low-income households living in remote areas and disadvantaged groups by summoning public to donate winter clothes and other usable things. It took place at 11 AM on Dec. 5, 2011. After collecting the clothing, more than 500 staffs of KDPO were constantly loading the stuff to the Assembly Hall in KDPO. Later, the Chief Prosecutor Tsai guided the personnel to reorganize those clothes, and what’s amazing was that he even did better than some housekeepers! As the volunteers were well aware of their contributions towards the minorities, they were enthusiastically working in a joyful atmosphere consequently. This event was mainly conducted by KDPO, and the sponsors included Southern Taiwan Joint Service Centers, Kaohsiung Branch of Association for Victims Support, Kaohsiung Branch of Taiwan After-Care Association, Kaohsiung City Police Department, some religious NGOs and Weiyi Enterprises Corporation. The KDPO tried to snug the minorities for chilly winter by this activity which may benefit approximately more than 1000 people of 750 respective households. All the clothing and foods would be delivered to Liouquei Police Station and Qishan Police Station on Dec. 14, 2011; then they would be distributed as soon as possible to the needy family from Dec. 16, 2011. “It could have been waste if the clothing and usable materials had been idled for a long time”, said the Chief Prosecutor Tsai. Our unused stuff might be cherished by others, so when we share our love and things with those in need, the idle stuff are therefore transferring to be treasure for all. It is a great opportunity for public to learn how to cherish things and care about others by this event; as well as a chance to follow those who have been volunteers in our society for many years.
