Today, a three-man delegation led by La New Bears vice-captain, Mr. Stanley Su , and including Deputy Manager of Marketing, Mr. Roger Pu and International Group Manager, Mr. Tek Li , visited the office of Chief Prosecutor Chiang, Hui-ming. The two sides established the following consensus:

1.     The people of Taiwan attach great importance to the game of baseball and we would like to see it flourish and develop in a normal way, so that people value our sports culture. In the future, we hope to imitate the business fraternity and, in the manner of a partnership, strengthen our exchanges with the baseball team. This will both assist in the sound development of the sport and help players unhesitatingly to reject outside enticements. Where there is intent to bribe by gangsters or heads of gambling syndicates, or where players are involved in illegal activity, we will use our authority to combine the forces of the police and prosecutors' office to investigate and eliminate such activity, so that baseball is guaranteed a clean playing environment

2.     This office recommends that, in addition to reminding its players to focus on self-discipline, the baseball team establishes a mechanism specifically to prevent abuses. If this office hears any rumors of unreasonable or improper behavior (which are not yet part of an investigation procedure), we will, at the earliest possible time, warn the team to be on its guard.

3.     Hend Prosecutor Kao, Ta-fang. a keen baseball supporter, has been assigned to lead a team of prosecutors who will interact with the La New Bears team. On the basis of respect for the players and the establishment of mutual trust, a number of joint activities will be held, including discussions on law and order, friendly games, and invitations to the stars to participate in community activities opposing drugs, vote-buying, and so on. These activities, which will be scheduled so as not to interfere with team training or games, will strengthen ties between the two sides.
